FRENER & REIFER supports scientific studies of parametrics and freeform
Two scientific books have been published In cooperation with FRENER & REIFER:
POST-PARAMETRIC AUTOMATION IN DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION
This book is a response to a critical issue for the design and construction industry: “how are architects, engineers, and contractors using information technology to further automate their supply chains?”
Addressing the use of new digital technologies, particularly parametric automation for design and construction in the building industry, this book looks at how technologically advanced architectural and engineering practices are semi-automating their design processes by using sophisticated algorithms to transform their workflows.
The book also documents companies that are further advancing automation by using pre-fabrication, modularization, and custom designs via robotics. One project example used is the “ThyssenKrupp Headquarter”, for which FRENER & REIFER completely planned, manufactured and installed the facades.
FORSCHUNGSVORHABEN P 846 / IGF-Nr. 16603 N
The research report explores a new concept for self-supporting lightweight structures for the realization of freeform surfaces. The concept utilizes a double-layered structure that integrates load-bearing, functional properties and facade design in one unit. FRENER & REIFER was involved in the production of this publication.
