13th May 2013. BMW-Welt, Munich

The Export Club of Bavaria and the Bolzano-based agency Business Location Südtirol (BLS) were the hosts of this event. The current political and economic situation in Italy and the role of South Tyrol as Italy’s top business location were the topics of the evening.

Michael J. Purzer - Head of Marketing and Sales at FRENER & REIFER, the South Tyrolean full-service provider for premium facades, spoke on the subject of excellence and innovation in the company – which realises high quality bespoke designs in glass and metal in unusual locations and is in demand worldwide for blue-chip architectural projects.

In his presentation Purzer emphasized the complexity and flexibility of the company and presented numerous extraordinary project references, including the new Wildspitzbahn cable-car station at an altitude of 3440m in the Pitztal valley in Tyrol, a private villa on a volcanic beach in Hawaii and all-glass constructions for a flagship store in China. Demanding facade assignments for various luxury hotels in Switzerland have also been completed in the past few months. A company HQ in the centre of Paris with a spectacular free-form shell is currently the most impressive challenge confronting the family business from Bressanone.

The varied evening was opened by well-known journalist and presenter Antje Pieper, who has been head of the ZDF studios in Rome for some years. She gave a talk in her characteristic proficient and friendly style on the topic: ”Whither Italy? Europe‘s fourth largest economy in upheaval”.

Ulrich Stofner, Director of Business Location Südtirol, spoke on the theme of ”Two cultures, a model of success: South Tyrol as a springboard into the Italian market” and emphasised the particularly successful role of the region in whose capital he works. The evening came to a close with a delightful culinary finale in a lively and stimulating atmosphere.
