SCOPE OF WORK
Facade cladding in inner and outer areas of BMW-Welt, 14,500m² of 3 mm thick stainless steel sheeting; Approx. 1,600m² aluminium sheet facade. Maintenance louvres in perforated plate. Glass facades with an approx. 1,600m² mixed steel and aluminium transom / mullion construction. Glass parapets. Textile sun protection / glare shield systems. Smoke warning systems; concealed doors clad with stainless steel panels; Guard rail systems. Other metalwork e.g. electrically actuated 1,500mm x 4,800mm maintenance louvres.
INNOVATIONS
AND CHALLENGES
Implementation planning and realisation of exceptional building geometry; precision planity of approx. 9,000 smooth matt stainless steel sheet mounted on a form-giving steel substructure; sharp-edged sheets, laser-cut in extremely diverse formats; diagonal joint pattern.
